Yes, a Hair Patch is absolutely safe to use. This procedure of Fixing a Hair Patch is completely non surgical. Any adhesives are also applied on the surface of the scalp. We at Papillon, use adhesives – hair patch glue and tapes of hair patches which are genuine, skin friendly, tried and tested. We use specific brands of tapes, glues, color, and other hair products required in hair patches, which are absolutely safe for use.

Yes a Hair Patch / Hair System when styled and customized properly looks very natural. However one must select a style or a look which will also be very less maintenance heavy. We always say don’t compare yourself with someone having a patch or real hair. Always compare your new look with your existing bald / thin hair look. Cost of hair patch depends on hair quality, knotting quality, the base material on which the hairs are knotted and much more. We have a range starting at Rs..12,000/- onwards and upto Rs.100,000/- depending on the patch type, number of hair patches and the service sessions package that you select. It depends on your choice for quality and budget of the hair patch, how much you are willing to invest in it.

Taking care of the hair patch is a process. You have to avoid frequent friction to your hair patch. Always make sure that before combing your hair patch everyday morning, you make your hair wet with serum. Combing dry hair will always loosen the hair knotting early. If you have an outdoor job, and  the hair patch is exposed to the environment every now and  then, you must wash your hair patch once in 15 days. If you have an indoor job then you need a service once in 3 weeks. If you sweat a lot, then you must consult us and take down how frequent you need a service maintenance session for the best results.

Broadly, there are 3 ways of attaching a hair patch to your scalp.

Hair Patch can be removed on your own when it is attached with the clipping or taping method. Hair patches done with the clipping have to be removed daily. It is just a press clip similar to a button of the shirt. Taping Hair patches are also to be removed once a week. Tape needs to be replaced with the new one. Small tape sticks of tape roll will need to be replaced. However if the hair patch is fixed using glue, you need to use specific solvents for removal and scalp cleaning which is best to be done at a professional center. Yes, you can. Exercise brings heavy sweating. More the sweat the hair system needs to be washed or attached frequently. People who are professional gym goeers or professional sportspersons for example might need a maintenance session once in every 15 days.

The hair patch glue is ideally cannot be removed on your own, as it requires a professional to remove it. Trying to remove Hair patch glue on your own can often damage the hair patch significantly.

The life of a Hair Patch depends upon a lot of factors but especially on the base material that is used for the Patch. For eg – Mono, Lace or Skin are different base materials used for Hair Patches or Systems and each material has a different life. It also depends on how you maintain it. Hair Patch Maintenance plays a vital role in patch life. It includes daily maintenance of doing a hairstyle like combing, setting etc and a monthly maintenance like washing, conditioning, coloring etc. If the use is rough, the life can be as low as 3-4 months if used well most of the Hair Systems will last for 9-12 months. Keep in mind that the more natural looking the hair patch, the less durable it will be as the material used is going to be more and more thin.

Once the client is satisfied about the quality offered at Papillon and once the client decides to place an order, our senior stylist takes all the necessary details such as the Head Size, Hair Color, Choice of Style, Hair Density etc (depending on the product). Once the order is placed and the required details are taken by our stylist, it takes 15-21 working days on average for us to schedule an appointment for the actual Hair Weaving / Hair Bonding in Pune session. In case of high amount of customization, it might take more amount of time to get the customized systems designed from our factories.

In case you are not yet a Papillon client, we still try our best to service your Hair Patch / Hair System. These maintenance sessions are usually given after examining the state of your current Hair Patch / Hair System. In case it is not in a condition to be serviced, we suggest you some alternatives to go for a new Hair Replacement System. Usually the cost of such hair patch maintenance sessions will be slightly higher for Non-Papillon clients, but the exact cost of the same can be decided only once we examine the Hair System.

There are multiple ways in which you can fix the hair systems / hair patches. In most of the fixing methods such as Clipping, Clip + Tape, Taping, Hair Weaving maintenance will only be required once in 45 to 60 days depending on your hair growth rate. All the basic things such as washing, fixing and removal, styling etc are taught to you by the Papillon Staff so that you can manage these on your own at home. So only when your natural hair grows long enough to give you a messy look, you will require a hair patch service session with us. There is another popular method of Hair Fixing which is known as Chemical Bonding of Hair Systems. In this method, considering the humid climate and high amount of pollution in Indian cities, the Hair System / Hair Patch will stay fixed on your scalp for around 20 – 25 days. However, in this method you will not be able to do the removal / fixing at home and hence you will have to come back to us for the maintenance service sessions of the Hair System almost every three weeks.
